Heilige Gees

Drie-Eenheid  Heilige Gees

· John 16:7 AMP - “However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is
profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do
not go away, the Comforter (Counsellor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby, [who is the Holy Spirit]) will not come to you, but if I go away,
I will send Him to you.”
Main passage:
The role of the Holy Spirt
He empowers the believer to be a successful witness. Church without the Holy Spirit is not Church! The only way for us to fulfil our purpose as a single believer or as the church is by relating and connecting with the Holy Spirit. His role in every believer’s life is vast and immensely important. He is mainly described as our Comforter, Counsellor and Helper in scripture. A comforter is there to help you sort out the hurts of the past, a counsellor is there to give you guidance for the future and a helper is one that stands by in the present with whatever you need of him. Whatever you need He is that to you!!
Jesus expressed and embodied a great dependence on the Holy Spirit. He did not even start His public ministry without His empowering. If this was the case for Jesus how much more do we need His working and empowering daily? Through what Jesus did on the cross, we have the honour of receiving this Gift from heaven by simply asking for Him. The scripture is clear that if we ask for the Spirit we will receive Him. “…how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” (Luke 11:13). We are going to do that right now!
Conclusion:

A daily encounter with the Holy Spirit is the secret of a full and impactful life. During this week make time for the Holy Spirit to reveal Himself to you and to read about what the Bible says about Him. May you see and experience how awesome and wonderful the Person of the Holy Spirit is. “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you” (John 14:26).
